Kasarla Shyam, In his Journey of 30 years in the field of Entertainment on stage, T.V. Films, starting from 1984 as on Date has written lyrics for 60 Films around 150 songs in Tollywood movies and has written over 5000 Songs for Private albums and as a singer has around 2000 Songs to his credit. His style of writing and singing touches the hearts of the people in and around the globe, and makes them to dance with joy and sometimes makes them emotional. He writes in a variety of subjects like Mythological, Historical, Social, awareness and with a touch of Folk.
No matter how you look at his lyrics and his style of singing the soul comprises of Folk in nature that’s the reason why his songs touch the hearts of people.

His Artistic Journey :
Started in 1984 with ‘Mantrala Mutthigadu’ Folk Dance character played by Kasarla Shyam for the first time on the occasion of Children’s Day 14th Nov. organized by “Balala Academy” Warangal which won him First Prize from there the prodigy of Folk Songs “WARANGAL SHANKAR” picked him up for his troupe to perform hence performing along with his troupe inspired by the folk songs style of singing and writing has triggered the genes that genetically inhabited from his father Madhusudhan Rao who is Drama and Film artist in those days. The Goddess Saraswathi as bestowed him with the writing skills and singing skills in him. Hence Kasarla Shyam has emerged to a stage where his mentor Warangal Shankar started singing the songs written by Kasarla Shyam. His performances has singer started in 1990’s and by now he is known as Folk Singer and Writer in the field of Janapada Geyalu (Folk Songs) and led him to perform as a singer and as a Folk songs writer in Telugu emphasizing Telangana style where in he got to perform with song and drama and cultural department of A.P. shows. Representing A.P’s proud folk songs (Janapada Geethaalu) highlighting the social causes such as child labour, Aids, Girl Child, importance of studies, eradicating of social evil.
Ø Won second prize for Janapada Geethalu of A.P. in the National youth festival 1995 at Bhopal.

Ø Written all the episode songs for Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya hosted by Real Star Srihari, Dialogue King Sai Kumar on TV5.
Ø Telugu Kala Sravanthi Sharjah specially invited him to perform as a Folk Singer on the occasion of Ugadi – 2008
Ø They enjoyed his songs so much that they invited him for singing on the occasion of 11th Anniversary at Abudhabi – 2014
In this process he also started writing many songs towards the ‘Telangana Jataras’ like Bonalu, Sammakka Sarakka, Komuravelli Mallanna, Annaram Sharief etc. He became a personal folk songs writer and singer for almost all leading recording companies of 90’s like DRC, SVC, Geetha Recordings etc. Recognizing his talent the then famous music companies like Aditya, Supreme, T-Series have given him projects like “Mastugundi pori, Maradalupilla”. By the dawn of 20th Centaury the era of private audio, video albums started shyam’s artistic talents have also emerged to the level and his inbuilt quest to the perfect in his profession has joined Potti Sriramulu Telugu university in the field of folk arts, completed M.A., and M.Phil., in the years of 2002 and 2004 then the talents of Folk singers and writers had such a impact on the listeners of society and the election campaigning with the folk and telangana style of lyrics and singing has become signature campaigning stunt or style for elections so Kasarla Shyam being one of the best in the market was approached by these political parties to write and sing for their campaigning which led to many election campaigning albums and specially the albums made by shyam for campaigning has helped that particular leaders to win in the elections. By now Kasarla Shyam evolved as a writer, singer and also Music director and his talent recognized by the film fraternity has offered to write a song in a Film “CHANTIGADU”. Thus his journey into the films also started.
In a span of 6 years after writing around 20, 25 songs for different telugu films, Shyam has written and sung “Nilapoori Gajula” in the film MAHATMA (2009) brought him into limelight and kept him top 5 for a long time and he become a noted lyric writer in Telugu Films.
The song “Kalalake Kanulochina” in movie “BUS STOP” has won him the prestigious Santosham Film Award of 2012.
The song “Kothagunna Haaye Nuvva” from the movie “PREMA KATHA CHITRAM” kept in top 5 in the year 2013.
The song “Melamellaga” from the movie VENKATADRI EXPRESS kept in top 5 in the year 2013.
The noted film actor Real Star Dr. Srihari recognized Shyam’s talent and has encouraged him as a friend, philosopher, guide and has made it a point to include written his songs in his movies which also became popular. Such was the greatness of Srihari in helping the upcoming talent and Shyam is ever thankful to him for his encouragement and his companionship has helped Shyam to get recognized in the film fraternity. As a writer and singer and brought him more offers in Tollywood. The very nature of Srihari of helping and encouraging young talents made a remarkable impact on Shyam so Kasarla Shyam adapted his nature of helping young talents and implemented since then.
