Pyarelal Santoshi (alternately credited as P.L. Santoshi) (1916–1978),was a producer, director, writer and lyricist in Hindi films. He was born Pyarelal Srivastava on August 16, 1916 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. “Aana Meri Jaan Meri Jaan Sunday Ke Sunday” (“Shehnai”, 1947) and “O Neend Na Mujhko Aaye” (“Post Box 999”, 1958) are among his most popular songs. He wrote lyrics for over 50 films in a career spanning four decades.
P.L. Santoshi"s son Rajkumar Santoshi is an acclaimed Hindi film producer and director himself.
